what exactly does that mean

why is it flickering back at you as your eyes graze across this screen

our purpose will remain ambiguous, we hope you can tease it out of the various poems and short stories collected here on this website- a modern technological advancement felt appropriate here

MODERNISM

is not trapped on the streets of london and is not exclusive to the white men (and Virginia Woolf) who sit around on their overstuffed armchairs, smoking, and discussing ideas they themselves will not (or cannot) fully explain

it in the way an everyday human tells the significant tale of nobody from nowhere who is at once everyone from everywhere

it is in the way discoveries in science and psychology twist into the yarns of our stories

we see inside their minds and their dreams speak to us

we, the reader, do not have all the pieces because the hero herself has only fragments

we will not tell you our purpose, nor will we give you a hard and fast definition of a topic so nebulous the experts themselves get lost in the clouds of their own breath trying to put a boundary on what was not meant to be confined

it is the endless possibilities that come from shrugging off the confines of tradition

endless redefinition

experimentation

and if it is any consolation, you’re supposed to be confused

that’s what we want

because now you can chew your own food

instead of us

chewing it for you
